The History drama returns in 2017.

History announced today that Vikings has been renewed for a fifth season. The veteran drama has maintained its rank as one of the top 10 cable dramas in its current fourth season, continuing to draw strong viewership in key demographics.
The cable network has ordered another 20 episodes of Vikings - matching its Season 4 number - for a premiere in 2017. It was also announced today that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be joining the cast as a series regular in Season 5, though details on his role are being kept secret for the time being.

hey jerry, what series isn't a soap opera? what did you want , a series with no characters or storyline, just Vikings killing people? Vikings as horrible as they were had some redeeming factors to them. they were a war death cult people though so , this is great , and the acting is great in this show.

How did this show ever make it to five seasons. I watched the first 3-4 episodes and it was basically a soap opera with bad acting.

Outstanding. This show is addicting, even if it isn't that historically accurate. There is some stuff that is accurate though and the actors are fantastic.
