Hulu orders more of the Mindy Kaling comedy.
May 4, 2016
Hulu announced today The Mindy Project has been picked up for a fifth season. The good news comes a year after the streaming service revived the comedy after it was cancelled at its original network, Fox.
The show's supersized 26-episode fourth season is currently streaming on Hulu, with new episodes still being released through its expected finale in July. There is no word yet on the number of episodes ordered for Season 5.

-- still not over Firefly -- wow, it's been 13 years since that show went off... that's some trouble letting go. Are you still pining for I Love Lucy? The Brady Bunch? Good Times? The reason, I think, some people get annoyed at some renewals is BECAUSE better shows get cancelled. I mean the Mindy Project is pretty "tween" oriented for a pseudo adult sitcom. It's like watching "Awkward" for Kaling fans. Mindy WAS great on The Office - in 3 minute bits... in 21 minute episodes she's too much of a muppet. But it's no skin off my nose if Hulu renews it.. I'm never paying for Hulu anyway. (And you can get the episode free if you know how).

Nope, never seen it Ted. I enjoyed Mindy Kaling on The Office but I have never seen a single episode of this show. I only clicked the link at all because I hadn't realized that this show had moved to Hulu and was curious about that. I just don't get the negativity. I totally get it when people are disappointed by untimely cancellations (I'm still not over Firefly!), but not disparaging other shows that some people enjoy. Except the Kardashians. I totally get trashing them.

I happen to be one of those people who enjoy this show and I also happen to enjoy PLL...I guess I'm only half a loser. You know I get on here and I read these comments and I am always irritated by the negative ones of people saying things like get a life. Did you happen to think maybe you need a life? Apparently you are wasting your time watching shows you don't even like. That is what I call somebody who needs a life.

MC - I'm not losing sleep at night over it. But sometimes I feel like expressing my feelings about a show here. That's what comment sections are for, after all. But calling people names for what they watch is silly, no doubt. Unless they care about the Kardashians. Then I start to judge ;)

oh Sally PLL a proper show???? Have we been watching the last two seasons....still love Mindy though and am excited to see more. That opens up the question however Am I a loser for watch Mindy if I am also still watching PLL? Hmmm I'll leave that one up to Sally :)

Ok, honest question here - why do any of you care that a show you don't like and apparently don't watch was renewed? Seriously. I mean, I'm not a fan of, say, CSI, but I'm not commenting on their stories so I can tell them they suck. Just be happy for the fans of this show that something they enjoy gets to live on for another season.

Lahiri's voice is like nails on a chalkboard... and she narrates... just horrible. The satire and situations of the episodes COULD be funny.. but the problem here is Lahiri... that cartoon voice screeching across everything just ruins it all. But WHO CARES?? It's on Hulu... not, like... a real network, ya know.... there's a reason Hulu is 3rd rate at best.... their shows suck. Their "claim to fame" is watching old shows they've snatched up... not creating new shows. Clearly with little to nothing new on deck, the Mindy Project may be... well.... the least smelly turd in the pool.... still a turd though.
