The Omen follow-up will not return for Season 2.
May 20, 2016
It was announced today that A&E has cancelled Damien after its first season. Series creator Glen Mazzara posted the bad news on Twitter this afternoon, citing low ratings as the reason for the show not continuing.
The drama aired a short 10-episode run between March and May on Monday nights, but failed to draw a significant audience.

seriously bummed that this got cancelled and things like vampire diaries just comes back for another season limping towards the end. what was once a good show has been unwatchable and damien was fantastic and barbara hershey is awesome as an evil character. very upset that there won't be another season. it was intense and different. guess people just want to watch endless reality tripe.

I liked this show. Great writing, great cast. It was introduced at the wrong time. I think a summer start would have been successful. A&E was the wrong network for Damien. Maybe it will be pitched to a network that is a better fit.

Damien was a great show. It had a lot of good intertwined story lines and the actors were great. It's a shame. The problem wasn't the show, it was the network it was on. If that show was on Showtime or HBO it would have been great. Plus they could have done a lot more. Something's wrong when Damien gets cancelled, and shows like Cake Boss go on for years.

I'm sorry to see it end. Maybe, before cancelling, try another night and time slot. I really enjoyed the show and was looking forward to season 2....what a bomber😢

I didn't think it was a stinker.Everybody has different taste and that's fine but sometimes a show has to grow. That said I must say that I'm guilty of pre- judging shows also but usually it's just because I don't like that type of show not because It's actually bad as I don't know that if I haven't seen it.

.. ahh but Marco.. when the FIRST EPISODE of a 2016 tv show needs to use a flashback to a 1976 movie... it's a stinker.

@marco55 you could tell the show was a stinker before it even aired.
