June 28, 2016
History announced today that Top Gear USA has been cancelled after its sixth season. The driving series, which is based on the hit BBC original of the same name, premiered in 2010 as a way to bring the popular format stateside.
The final episode of Top Gear USA airs tonight on History, though BBC Worldwide has already issued a statement that they have begun exploring opportunities to find a new home for the show in the US.

I always thought this show would have been dope if they had Jay Leno, Adam Corolla and Joel McHale as hosts.

I gave this show an honest chance but it always seemed like three kids running around in dads shoes pretending to be something they could never be.

I didn't even know this show was still on. I've heard nothing of it beyond the first episodes. It was bad then and I can't believe it lasted this long, and why was it on History channel (unless they were only testing old cars).I can't wait for the new Amazon show from Jeremy, Richard and James.

Now if "History" channel would cancel the rest of the garage they call shows and replace them with shows actually about history then the network might be worth watching again.

S04e08 titled American Supercars. that was the deal breaker episode for me. i remember it was a competition/comparison between American vs European supercars and at the end American cars "Won" i get that this is an American show and local pride had to be the norm but objectivity is also important and that episode was utter BS. i'm not gonna miss Tanner Screaming like a 8 years old either.

The single biggest headache for a car-based show in the US is that American shows are EXCLUSIVELY advertising based. its tough to be critical of a Ford F150 when Ford is sponcering the show. Thats why TG-BBC did so well - they could bash everything Dodge makes (which they did) and still have funding.
That being said I wasnt much a fan of TG-USA. The guys are clearly not as close friends as the UK guys, and their antics are more childish, and only for the sake of being childish.
What BBC needs to do is try to get on straight Cable - Starz, Showtime, ect... where the advertisers cant influence the reviews or challenges and let the guys roll properly. That would be a show...

Bummer...this was a good show. It was up and down so I am surprised it lasted this long...with different seasons having different amounts of episodes. Still curious who Stig is.

I'm amazed they canceled this.
It's far better than the recast of the UK version.
Looks like the time of exotic sports cars shows is coming to an end
