No Season 2 for the freshman drama.

It is being reported that Fox has cancelled Houdini & Doyle after one season. The British-Canadian drama premiered in March as a mid-season entry with a 10-episode run, but failed to win over critics or find much of an audience in its Monday night time slot.
The series focused on magician Harry Houdini and Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle working together to assist Scotland Yard detectives in solving inexplicable cases.

So in essence, Fox killed this great show on its own. I actually enjoyed the show greatly and hope Netflix of Amazon pick it up

Do not get me wrong I will watch a show that is only going to be 1 season if it wraps up everything in that 1 season but if it leaves a cliffhanger then it will not be watchable.

Loved the show....but figured it wouldn't get another season. Ratings weren't very good. Too bad. It really was a good show. Would have done better on Netflix or Hulu.

Did not see it getting season 2. not enough interest.
They should have just announced it was getting a second season then canned it later. Too many people are afraid to watch a show unless they do that. Networks now just say it is getting season 2 to get those people to watch, even though the show might not. If you are afraid to watch a show because the network has not said season 2 is a go, then maybe you should not watch tv.

I loved this show, but it wasn't a FOX TV show. It would've done well on Acorn (Canada) or BBC. I wish it would find another home there, so it could be appreciated. I love police/murder mystery type shows & I really like Victorian era/period stuff like Murdoch Mysteries, so this was a win/win for me. Again, would have done well on Canadian or British channel, def not for FOX. I'm bummed.

This is a prime example of why I no longer give shows a chance if it has not been given a second season. This show sounded so great but I will not watch it. I have been so burned so many times by a show either getting cancelled in the middle of a season or after the first season and not resolving all the ends so it ends on a cliffhanger.

Darn, I was looking forward to the next season! There are just way too many "child based" stuff on TV, it was refreshing to see something for a more older crowd. I rarely watch Fox to begin with, now I got no reason to tune in. I agree with Mark, these types of shows would do well on Hulu or Netflix.

This was originally only supposed to be a mini series anyway I thought?

I just couldn't get into this series. The woman lead character irritated me and I think it would have been much better without her. But, I am sorry it got cancelled for those who love it. We all know how that feels now a days.

Another decent show bits the dust. The decisions these "experts" make sometimes boggles the mind of thinking people.
