Showtime announced today at the TCA summer press tour that Ray Donovan has been renewed for a fifth season. The Liev Schreiber drama has continued to be a solid performer for the network, drawing solid viewership and garnering critical acclaim. The show has four Emmy Award nominations this year in the acting and directing categories.
The cable network has ordered another 12 episodes for Season 5, will return in 2017. Season 4 is currently airing new episodes on Sunday nights, with five episodes remaining ahead of its mid-September finale.

Ive watched Ray Donavon since day one and waited patiently all week for sunday night to come so i could watch. I cant even begin to tell you how excited i was to read that the show is returning in 2017. When will we know what date it will start? A better decision couldnt have been made!!!! GO RAY

Actually I am surprised it was renewed. The show usually ends with a major cliffhanger. Not so this year. First time it ever ended on a positive note Ray was HAPPY. I thought ok Ray has found his happy place its over.

So I'm going through season 4.. ... why is no one ever getting a DUI? Especially Ray? Just curious :) Seems to drive when he can't stand straight. Ahh.. the miracle of Hollywood and being rich :)

Good show.. but really needs a few more light-hearted moments to even out things. No one ever (or almost never) smiles and laughs on this show. I "get' that it's drama, but drama has more impact by showing a RANGE of emotions in a character. Still.. like the show. Just see where it could be improved a little.
