The cancelled drama gets the chance to properly conclude its story.
February 24, 2021
Showtime announced today that Ray Donovan will be returning for a movie that will allow the veteran series to properly finish its story. The good news comes a year after the drama was unexpectedly cancelled after seven seasons.
Fans were understandably upset when the show got axed, as its final episode ended on a cliffhanger that seemed like it would never be resolved. Thankfully that is no longer the case, as the movie is said to pick up where Season 7 left off.
Ray Donovan stars Liev Schreiber as the titular character, who does the dirty work for some of Los Angeles' most-powerful figures. As their go-to guy, he makes the problems of the city's elite celebrities, athletes, and businessmen disappear. Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey will be back along with Schreiber for the film, which will follow Ray as he works to find and stop Mickey from causing more damage.

Oh good!!!! Hopefully they’ll kill off Mickey in the movie and they make it especially horrible and brutal!!! I also hope they do it in the first 10 min of the movie so I don’t have to look at Jon Voight’s grossness for long

with Covid I'm assuming they realized what a mistake it was to cancel. I'm so glad for a movie! I'll take what I can get. Something tells me this show had good streaming during covid.

Good! They ended the series horribly.. only issue here is the looooooooooooooooooong time between the series ending and any movie.
