The drama will be moving to New York next year.

Showtime announced today that Ray Donovan has been picked up for a sixth season. The veteran drama has remained a solid performer for the cable network, drawing continued critical acclaim and ranking as one of its top dramas with an average of almost 5 million weekly viewers across its various delivery platforms.
The series stars Liev Schreiber as the titular character who does the dirty work for some of Los Angeles' most-powerful figures. As their go-to guy, he makes the problems of the city's elite celebrities, athletes, and businessmen disappear.
For Season 6, though, a change in scenery is on the horizon. Ray will be making a move from LA to New York City after the events from this current season force him to rebuild his life.
Showtime has ordered another 12 episodes for Season 6 - on par with all previous seasons. Look for a premiere in mid-2018. For now, catch the fifth-season finale this Sunday, October 29.

But... But... Ray took a header!!!
Spending the whole season mourning Abby was slow, tedious and hackneyed.

Watch out NYC..
I hope we see more of "fixer" Ray instead of "vengeful" Ray. I love the show but I am a little tired of Terry's whining about Abby, killing, and Catholic guilt. Bridget has her share of whining too. I would like the Ray/Micky situation come to some sort of resolution that we can all live with!

I actually enjoyed this season, the way Abbey was dead but not really! Now she is gone though I will miss her character. Cant wait to see how the show moves on in NewYork.

Love the show but really HATE how season 5 was 50% flashbacks.. so there was little tension or suspense because you already saw the outcome of many situations. Kind of "jumped the shark" the entire season. Horrible direction for season 5. It would have been WAY more compelling if told straight-forward and not via flashbacks. -- But again, love the show.. hopefully they son't pull the same shit in season 6.

I love this show, but I wish Ray and Abby would have divorced instead of killing her off. This would have given the writers a lot more story line to me. I love the fact they are moving the show to New York. The California/Hollywood thing is getting old. Oh and for Heavens sake...get rid of BRIDGET. She is getting on my nerves and has been for the last few seasons. Love the Mickey/Ray feud!

I don't wanna see a showdown between Mickey and Ray. I would rather them fully reconcile (their relationship although still rocky, is way better than when the show began). The show is still good. Getting rid of the pain in the ass wife was a smart move, much like when Dexter's pain in the ass wife was killed off. Ladies, don't get the Plopster wrong, nothing against women, just saying you can only have a wife trying to prevent a killer from doing his thing for so long. "Dinner's ready, why aren't you home yet?" Um, maybe cause he's out killing people?

Ray Donovan was a great show, but this season has been a mess. The storylines have been all over the place. Season 6 should give us the mickey / ray showdown and push the other characters off to the side by leaving them in L.A. Time to wrap this show up.
