The dramedy will not return for Season 5.
September 1, 2016
It is being reported that Lifetime had decided not to continue with Devious Maids, cancelling the veteran dramedy after four seasons. The news comes three weeks after the show's Season 4 finale, which aired on August 8, and leaves its season-ending cliffhanger unresolved.
Devious Maids was created by Marc Cherry, best known for bringing us Desperate Housewives, and followed a group of Latina maids who were employed to clean the homes of wealthy families in Beverly Hills, California. The show fared reasonably well for the network over most of its run, though viewership did steadily taper off with each season, reaching series-lows in Season 4 that were less than half of what it drew in its first couple of years on the air.
Being one of only two scripted series on Lifetime, Devious Maids' departure leaves just UnREAL, which will return in 2017 for its third season, currently left in that category.

I am so disappointed this was my favorite show. I always watch it when I needed some laughter. It was one of the funniest shows. It had it all drama, laughter, suspensville. Lifetime losing your viewers after this move good job. Good luck to all the cast. You are all very talented. Please another network pick them up like ABC.

First off @Candace look at the title of the article.
2nd off - Lifetime might hate its viewers (evidenced by almost every other show they have on) but it can't be as much as Devious Maids truly hates its viewers. It shows how much it hated them by giving a cliffhanger with no idea if it was to be renewed. Way to spit in the face of viewers crappy show. F any show that has a cliffhanger without a renewal first. You know you might not get the next season and leave viewers hanging but do it anyway. Devious Maids gives cliffhanger, lifetime then gives them the karma they deserve. Thank you lifetime.

I hate USA they cancelled Burn Notice, Royal Pains, and now Devious Maids was a great show and worth watching real acting instead of the BS reality stuff.
These networks don't give a dam about their viewers.
I will cross USA off my list now forever.

This is a huge disappointment. I looked forward to seeing what happens next each year - what makes it worse it was left as a cliffhanger! Hopefully another network revives it so we can at-least get some closure.

This is a huge shame! This was such a great show! I am going to miss this a lot. It was funny, suspenseful and had wonderful characters! Wish they'd at least do an original movie to wrap up the final mystery.

Loved this show. Sorry to see it cancelled. I think viewership declined because the break between seasons was extremely long, and people didn't know it was coming back!
