No Season 3 for the Denis Leary comedy.
September 9, 2016
It is being reported that FX has cancelled Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll after two seasons. The comedy, which starred and was created by Denis Leary, followed an aging rock star who attempts to make a comeback in the music business.
While its first season drew decent numbers for the cable network, viewership tapered off considerably during Season 2. The show wrapped its sophomore season earlier this month, capping a run of 20 total episodes.

I agree that Dennis Leary will land on his feet. But not everyone involved with the show entered with the same financial security. The entertainment business is much more complex than most people can imagine. TV show's don't stop with just airing on TV, there's home video (DVD/Blu Ray) and online sales. People make claims that "they'll find work." Maybe they will, but what if a show filmed in Southern California, gets replaced by a new show filmed in Vancouver or Toronto. Do you think everybody just gets in their car and goes to the new set? What about the work that's contracted out. A new show may have new runners or production company who use different companies for pre & post work. A lot of those companies are small and any disruption of their cash flow can be crippling.

First season was great. Second season drag on never really took hold. I was disappointed. I thought maybe they would get their stuff together for the third. guess not.

I've seen the first season, mwoah, it was ok, but not that great. Season 2...I just couldn't get into it anymore... it was boring as hell.
@ unlucky13 u really think that those people are out of a job? haha, they'll move on to another show or something and Dennis Leary gets money for every new Ice Age movie because he voices Diego. So don't worry about them...:p

Oh, and Elizabeth Gillies, is hot and all... but that is where the puck stops. Her acting is awful. A younger Juliette Lewis, would of been AMAZING in this role...!

Absolute no surprise here. Season 1 was OK, nothing to write home about... But season 2, was absolute garbage.
Buhhhhhhh Bye!

1st season really witty and funny, had a corky story with potential. 2nd season I don't know what happened, it's like they were trying to hard and all the sudden the lead girl forgot how to act. Terrible, it's too bad, I love Dennis

@Unlucky13
Really are their paychecks going in your pocket. You have any idea how much these people get paid. Trust me they wouldn't worry about you if you were out of a job. But anyway, the show was ok they just took the 2nd season in a wrong direction and had nowhere to go. But I will miss seeing that chick though she was hot. Hopefully she'll get something soon.
Oh and unlucky13 people like to be happy about shows they don't like because there's a lot of shows that are just horrible that should never make it on the air but do.
