December 13, 2016
It was announced this afternoon that TV Land has cancelled Impastor after two seasons. The comedy ended its sophomore run just last week, which over its 10 episodes averaged 360,000 viewers in Live+Same Day ratings.
Impastor followed the life of gambling addict Buddy Dobbs, a low-life slacker who ends up posing as a small town's gay pastor in order to hide from a loan shark chasing him down. The series aired a total of 20 episodes over its two seasons.

I can't believe they cancelled it! The most funny TV show,I really enjoyed it and I am so disappointed that they even have us a final episode!

This show was bad. How could anybody watch it bad. I guess nobody could and that is why they canned it. I laughed a few times until I realized that the church was allowing a person they didn't investigate to be working there. After the scandals I could not watch a show that would support this. This is an outrage. The church should have done the littlest amount of work to protect it congregates.
Of course if they investigated the show would have fallen apart.

I just Googled to find out if the show was cancelled, and I'm so sorry to find out it is! I really enjoyed the premise and plot and found it very entertaining. We all need some form of escapism (especially now) and a ridiculous situation with some great comedic actors reminiscent of "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" (I love you, Dora!) Maybe TVLand will show reruns of that classic. I mean, what else is there to provide comedic relief? I'm open to suggestions
Goodbye, Impastor

Wow this show couldn't even stay on TVland. They show reruns of friends all night and this was even up to the channels standards? Wow just wow.

I am a professional comedy writer. since earning my masters degree from brown university nearly twenty years ago, i have written/co-written over 250 scripts that have aired on television, and 2 movie scripts. I wholeheartedly agree with the three "V's" (Vito-12/16..Vivica-01/02..Valerie-01/02). A good comedy needs not make sense. It may be quirky, amusing, entertaining, or perhaps "gut busting" funny. A comedy is successful if it makes you laugh, smile, or lighten your heart. This show was "extremely" well written.

Wow a lot of hate on a bad show. I tuned in to one episode saw it was lazy writing that made the quality of the show bad and never watched it again. Sure it was unbelievable but I just chalked it up to lazy creators. Oh well it won't be missed by me.

@American Viewer: Please, do not speak for me. I thought this show was entertaining, and I watched it. And I enjoyed it. Thoroughly. I'm running out of TV shows to watch. I'm not watching reality BS either.

Are you serious.... it's TV, not always supposed to be believable, just entertaining.
And I personally found it very entertaining.
It got me out of the every day grind for 20 minutes.
If you want things to be believable, stick with Reality TV.
I'd say a high percentage of shows are unbelievable, far fetched, unimaginable, unrealistic and the like.
Your point is really moot......

I imagine no one will see this as it has been a while since this thread started but:
Why does this thread have so many posts that feel negative? I love this site because it has great info and usually is a safe place.
