The revival series premieres this April.
January 15, 2017
Fox has announced an April premiere date for the revival of Prison Break. The cult action drama is returning to the air after an eight-year absence, back as an event series featuring most of the show's original cast.
The story will act as a sequel to the original series, picking up with Lincoln and Sara coming across clues that suggest that a supposedly-dead Michael may actually still be alive. The two reunite to orchestrate a massive escape that brings Sucre, T-Bag, and C-Note back into the fold.
Prison Break is the latest Fox series to return after an extended absence, helped in-part by its international popularity and its more-recent success on streaming service Netflix. 24 and The X-Files have both also been revived for limited series runs as of late, hoping to draw an audience of both new viewers as well as existing fans tuning in for the nostalgia of the originals.
Look for the premiere of Prison Break on Tuesday, April 4 at 9:00pm.

This is a great show at a time when tv is monopolized with reality and idiotic humor. Thank you for an alternative. Also, don't people have anything better to do than just go from show to show and trash it. If you don't like a show, don't watch it, but don't just put it down because it's not your thing or you didn't give it enough time to understand what the show is about.

Whatever awards ceremony it was - they all run the same. (since I can't edit my last post)

@jerry -For sure I would say the retread is attracting flies here. Are you a network executive? Typical network executives watch .001% of a show and yet know all about it. From someone who watched it, and ratings aside (as we know what crap the general public likes) I can tell you Prison Break was the best thing on TV when it aired. The Americans is an all-time classic and likewise has been the best thing on tv in my opinion (despite that I also believe Keri Russel cheered the loudest at Streep's psychotic interlude at the Academy Awards). And my super strong pick for the best new series on tv by far is TNT's Good Behavior (advise you to watch from the beginning).
Note: My opinions are based on what I watched, not unlike like yours.

Men and boys are not watching teevee. So bring back some guy shows and then ruin them because they have no clue why the majority of guys stop watching in the first place.

@Steve s. They are basically beating a dead horse with this retread. The show ran its course and died a natural death. The producers can pull out the paddles and scream clear all they want but this horse is already attracting flys. I give it about 6-8 episodes before it vanishes from the airwaves.

It's fair to criticize the many plot flaws incuding the longevity however most are missing the truth because they didn't really watch it. But first, Jerry says he watched the first 15 minutes (of the 60,000) and he surmises Michael should have gotten a better lawyer. That's so far off it's beyond ridiculous. The good lawyers were dead lawyers. The "company" went all the way to Obama (or Clinton, or Trump - pick your own corrupt president). Prison Break took the massive conspiracy scheme theme to the usual ludicrous max. But even this central always overdone flaw couldn't and didn't undermine this truly great show filled with tense action and great characters. Most of you critics missed it. Too bad. I for one am looking forward to the return. Since they've already milked this series mercilessly but successfully, who knows, maybe, maybe, they can do it yet again.

wow these guys really have no new ideas but to rehash old shows that ran there course, they must lack some real writers out there, tv goes 1 step forward 2 step repeats...
