The revival series premieres this April.
January 15, 2017
Fox has announced an April premiere date for the revival of Prison Break. The cult action drama is returning to the air after an eight-year absence, back as an event series featuring most of the show's original cast.
The story will act as a sequel to the original series, picking up with Lincoln and Sara coming across clues that suggest that a supposedly-dead Michael may actually still be alive. The two reunite to orchestrate a massive escape that brings Sucre, T-Bag, and C-Note back into the fold.
Prison Break is the latest Fox series to return after an extended absence, helped in-part by its international popularity and its more-recent success on streaming service Netflix. 24 and The X-Files have both also been revived for limited series runs as of late, hoping to draw an audience of both new viewers as well as existing fans tuning in for the nostalgia of the originals.
Look for the premiere of Prison Break on Tuesday, April 4 at 9:00pm.

Didn't even see the original.
What was it... 5 seasons of breaking out of prison...
... I can see it now, every episode a foot closer to the wall.

@Pope : Well, for "Married with Children", I heard the actor who played the son was talking to producers for a sequel based on his character.

I gave up 15 minutes into the premier in 2005. If he had taken all the money he spent on that silly tattoo and arraigning to be put in prison and had just spent it on a better lawyer for his brother this show could have been put to rest years ago.

The worst thing about all this is that Wentworth Miller had to leave Legends of Tomorrow, he was great in it! It's the only departure I miss (because who cares about the Hawkcouple).

Absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. Everything was finished, no loose ends at all and Michael was dead, they buried him, no lame excuse now can make him be alive again.

Is this going to now finish ?? How many breaks can it be before the idea gets boring ??

T-Bag back into the fold? Prison Break (and Robert Knepper/T-Bag) were great but one had to overlook some ridiculous writing. For example, near the end, they were considering whether TBag should get off because of some alleged pact. Total crap and T-Bag is the single most evil person in the show. And now he's gonna be part of the new "fold"? They brought back one head writer too many then.
Still, I expect it to be great.
