The new comedy will return for Season 2.
January 30, 2017
Fans of The Good Place can breathe a little easier today, as NBC has given an early renewal to the freshman series. The good news comes just weeks after the half-hour comedy concluded its 13-episode debut run, which ended with a twist of a cliffhanger that almost demanded the series return to continue the story.
The Good Place comes from creator Michael Schur, who also co-created and wrote for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation, among others. The series stars Kirsten Bell as a woman of questionable character who mistakenly ends up in an ideal afterlife akin to heaven. Ted Danson also stars as the architect who created the seemingly-utopian community.
Premiering last fall as part of the network's fall lineup, The Good Place was a modest performer over the course of its run. While many viewers have questioned why the show wasn't picked up for additional first-season episodes, NBC had always stated that it was meant for shorter-length seasons. And like Season 1, Season 2 of The Good Place will also consist of 13 episodes.

Not my cup of tea but I am glad for those of you who enjoy the show. It is always nice to see folks who don't get "stranded" when shows they watch get cut.

Forking awesome! This show was some good shirt. I was actually genuinely surprised by the twist at the end of the season. I'm usually able to see through tv plots with a laser beam. Maybe it got me because it's a comedy and my guard was down, but regardless, it was a happy surprise. Looking forward to season two. I hope they delve more into the "Michael" side of things. I love their take on the people that pull the strings in the afterlife. I literally LOL'd when the judge went into his protective cocoon.

Nope, I'm not watching these 8, 10, 12, or 13 week series any more. 13 weeks means it's 39 WEEKS, or 9 MONTHS, till the show comes back on, the next year. Nope, no longer following these shows that are off the air for soooo long I no longer remember what the story line is.
Nope, Nope, Nope....I'm done.
