No Season 2 for the low-rated spin-off.
May 12, 2017
While many saw this coming, it is now official: NBC has cancelled The Blacklist: Redemption after one season. The freshman drama premiered earlier this year as a spin-off of The Blacklist, but struggled to find a substantial audience over the course of its eight-episode run.
Spin-offs of successful shows are common, with networks attempting to appeal to the existing audience of an already-popular series. But perhaps the timing for a Blacklist spin-off was a little late, as the once-breakout hit has seen its viewership dip considerably in its later years. With Redemption likely not attracting many new viewers to the franchise, its success would have necessitated a large number of Blacklist viewers to tune into the new entry.

Disappointing! I really enjoyed this show - great action, good stories and good banter/interaction between the characters. Hopefully there are a few more episodes in the can that they can burn off streaming. Look forward to Tom and possibly a couple of the other Redemption characters being cast back into the original show.

The Plopster was into this show. Good thing is they are going to have to complete the story at least if they are returning Tom to the main show. Not sure if there are more episodes left to air or what, but Tom appearing back on the main show sans explanation would be weird.

Stop bashing the chick. She is fine as hell. It was too late for this show to start. At least she will have a better career than the girl in that baseball show on fox.

I admit I didn't watch this since I'm not a fan of the original, but my dad is a fan and tried to watch it. He told me it was bordering on slapstick, really awful.
Not all that surprised but it's a bummer for the minority that enjoyed the show.

Typical, (What a Surprise)! TV is supposed to be a source of entertainment, but in today's world the only thing that seems to get renewed on TV is all of the "PC BS". Don't run anything, entertaining, or some "Moron" might be offended!

What a sexist comment. To solve The Blacklists perceived issues all they have to do is hire someone hotter in your opinion? Who cares if they can act or not? That clearly does not matter as long as they are hot. You're a joke.

Terrible news! Famke Janssen is a gorgeous sexy wonderful talented actress. REDEMPTION had great writers, actors, & lighting. Story-lines were more interesting than this year’s original BLACKLIST (still good, but becoming a bit stale & needing a hotter female lead). I hope REDEMPTION’s stars can possibly be ‘merged’ back into the BLACKLIST? NBC, please say yes! Also, finish your contract talks & announce renewal for LAW & ORDER SVU with the wonderful Kelli Giddish! Also, we want your pilot REVERIE picked up to series.
