The office comedy will return for Season 2.
May 12, 2017
NBC has renewed Great News for a second season. The freshman comedy, which includes Tina Fey as one of its executive producers, premiered just last month as a mid-season entry and is currently six episodes into its run. Ratings so far have been modest at best, though critical reception has been mostly positive.
Currently airing new episodes Tuesday nights, the series follows an up-and-coming news producer who learns that her overbearing mother has decided to rejoin the workforce as an intern at her TV station. Though not overly excited about this turn events, there ends up being some benefits to having her biggest supporter by her side.

I'm happy to hear this! There's so many laugh out loud moments. I felt like it wasn't a good sign to start out with back-to-back airings each week, but I guess it wasn't episode burnoff if they've renewed it.
