The move effectively cancels the Shondaland drama.
June 22, 2017
After three low-rated episodes, ABC is moving its new series Still Star-Crossed to Saturday nights. The period drama, from Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland production company, premiered late last month to very little fanfare and mixed reviews.
The show's first episode garnered just over 2 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic. By its third week viewership was down to 1.6 million with a 0.3 rating, ranking it last against its Monday night competition.
Still Star-Crossed takes place after the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet, following the escalating rivalry between the Capulets and the Montagues. When Rosaline Capulet is betrothed to Benvolio Montague against her will in an attempt to end the bitter feud between their families, the two seek to find a way to prevent their arranged marriage as well as the destruction of their families.
The show's remaining episodes start back up on Saturday, July 8.

I just watched the last episode. How can they end it like that, at least give a proper ending. How can you just end it with no resolution!!!! Shame on you ABC! You could've made it a two hour finale. I just hope someone picks it up, Shondra you should fight for it, at least give us a completion of the storylines!

I hope someone does pick it up for a second season. I just watched the last episode which left the audience wondering what happens next. From that viewpoint, the episodes always ended with viewers who enjoyed the series wanting the next episode to air. Although the characters are fictional, I have come to care how there lives go and if truth will be victorious.

I loved the new spin on Romeo and Juliet. I thought the acting was petfect and the story line very well thought out. Too bad it wasn't given a fair chance. I guess it's back to stupid rachett TV.

Seriously? Shonda Rimes has the ego to believe she can improve on Bill Shakespeare. Her comeuppance was quick and well-deserved.

There is a quiet boycott against Ms. Rhimes. There were petitions from angry viewers of Grey's Anatomy & Scandal telling folks to stop watching her shows. Plus she told her viewers, if you don't like her shows, don't watch it. Well, be careful what you ask for.

People just like ratchet shows. They don't want to keep a classy one such as Still Star-Crossed.

I love this show. As much as I like Shakespeare, I believe this show would be a good summer show. I hope it can continue.

No surprise here. Predicted it 4 seconds into the first commercial for it.
