No Season 4 for the space drama.
September 1, 2017
Word is out this afternoon that Dark Matter has been cancelled at Syfy after three seasons. Series co-creator Joseph Mallozzi confirmed the news in a post this afternoon on his personal blog, expressing his deep sadness in a brief statement and promising to follow up with more thoughts in a further entry.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the Canadian-produced space drama follows the crew of a derelict spaceship who awaken from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board the vessel. They then work together to survive the voyage, facing threats such as betrayal, secrets, and vengeance around every corner.
The series aired its final episode just last week, ending a three-year run with a total of 39 episodes.

Can't help thinking that they've got this the wrong way round. To me, Killjoys was headed more towards a natural finale, whereas Dark Matter had several plot threads left hanging or not yet explored (Two's daughter, Five's sister etc).
Very strange decision...very strange indeed.

Yeah...not at all surprised. It was interesting until Season 2, but they couldn't follow up in Season 3. They were doing too many new things without addressing what they had already set up in Season 2. I switched off after 3 episodes in Season 3.
Killjoys, on the other hand, knows where it is going and sticks to it. Doesn't hurt that the production quality and background score is far better than Dark Matter's.

Finally! I liked it at the start (The android is great!), but it never really went anywhere.
It really needed some better writers.

Not really surprised and to be honest not really sorry. I stopped watching after the second season. Was an interesting show to beginn with but the story lived from the characters not knowing who they are. Once that was removed the writers had to come up with stuff for everyone and it became a mess.

Not really surprinsing. It looks like they didn't know what to do with the characters after season 1.

I wanted to like this show but it never found a center. Story lines were blurred. The characters were never really set. It always looked like it was trying too hard.

Ratings aside, I blame the producers for leaving multiple cliff hangers that will never be resolved. they must have known they were in trouble with the ratings before they filmed the finale. I loved the cast and story. sorry to see it go. at least we have "the expanse".

This was a good show - better then Killjoys in my opinion. Haven't trusted this network since they cancelled Stargate Universe. With only two or three decent shows, they should just give up and go away.
