The Marvel mutant drama will return for Season 2.
January 4, 2018
Fox today officially renewed The Gifted for a second season. The announcement was made by the network during its segment at the winter TCA press tour. The series premiered in October as part of its fall lineup and has made a positive impression on both critics and fans.
On Monday nights the series has drawn fairly solid ratings through its first 11 episodes. While its numbers have slipped in a bit in recent weeks, the show still ranks as the Number 3 new drama of the 2017-2018 television season.
Set in Marvel's X-Men universe, The Gifted follows a family who learns that their kids possess mutant powers. And though the father is a district attorney, he is forced to take his family on the run from a hostile government and join up with an underground network of mutants in a fight to survive.
As The Gifted is structured as a limited-run series, only two episodes remain in its 13-episode first season. Those two episodes will air back-to-back as a two-hour season finale on Monday, January 15.

I love the show. I want to know if there is going to be a season 3.

Barely watchable show and full of cliches. Has a lot of potential though, and it's not nearly as bad as Inhumans but it say something that the CW's The Tomorrow People is far superior, not just on an entertainment level, but in the quality of writing and directing.

Another boring, bandwagon comic theme sleepy series. Dry characters.

Just couldn’t give it a try even if it has one of my favorite actresses (Amy Acker) in it and friends say it is pretty good. I’m just too superheroed/mutanted out!

Interesting. Only last night my husband was saying he has lost interest in this show. My response was that it will probably be renewed. Many of the marvel shows were like this for us. First few episodes were pretty good but then we lost interest somewhere in the first season. I guess since we are not huge comic book fans we just don't keep on coming back. I don't think there is anything wrong with the story or acting, just not our cup of tea after a while. But kudos to everyone involved and for those who enjoy the show, congrats on getting to watch it another season.

Barely watchable -- pretty much the last thing left on my DVR for the week after I already watched everything else. And like others have stated, Heroes Reborn Ver 3.0 but not as good as Heroes ver 1.0

The Gifted is 100 times better than Inhumans but that is not saying much. It is so predictable and the characters are so dumbed down. If season 1 does not dramatically improve I will not be watching Season 2.

I didn't think I would like this show, but it has surprised me. I hate that the season finale' is coming in less than 2 weeks. I wish it had more episodes.

Curtis.. it doesn't matter if it's NBC of Marvel.. teh storylines are REMARKABLY similar. Once is a copy of the other... clearly.

This is one of the main announcements I have been hoping for. YEAH!!! The set up of a prosecutor ending up with kids with powers and a wife without all on the run and needing helping from the very people he was trying to prosecute got my attention right from the start.
Isn't it entirely possible that ratings start to slip late in some seasons due to the fact that some of us are getting more and more afraid of cancellation? I like to save some episodes in case that bad news comes - and yes, I do know that can cause cancellations. It is just a constant catch-22 that drives me nuts.
