No Season 2 for the period drama.
January 25, 2018
It is being reported that USA Network has cancelled Damnation after one season. The period drama premiered last fall with a 10-episode run that concluded just last week. The move marks the cable network's first cancellation of 2018.
Set in the 1930s American heartland, the series follows a man disguising himself as a small town preacher as a means of starting a complete insurrection against the status quo. Unbeknownst to him, an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker to stop the uprising at all costs. But what those around them don't know is that these two men share a secret, bloody past.
Reviews of Damnation were mixed from both critics and viewers. Ultimately its ratings reflected that, as the show's modest audience turnout for its premiere episode tapered off significantly during the course of its run.

Probably made the wealthy uncomfortable about how much the banks and elite control and manipulate everything. Loved the show. Obviously I will have to see if a series has more then a season if I try watching one again. Don’t agree with the call canceling such s great show. 5 stars!

I can't believe USA canceled this show. Can someone at the network explain why all the good shows get canceled and the reality shows' stay on?
Some of us like to watch entertaining shows that do not insult our intelligence.

I hope Netflix does continue this show. At first I didn't think I would like it due to time period but after 15 minutes I was hooked. Cancel crap like dancing with the stars and singing shows and keep the real good shows like Damnation

How do we start a campaign for USA to give Damnation another season, while promising to increase marketing to promote the show? Like so many others have also said, it is so annoying that quality entertainment having to do with subject matter that hasn’t already been done a million times on current television, especially excellent storytelling, gets CANCELLED so another version of The Real Housewives, Big Brother or a ridiculous, unbelievable sitcom can be made! We deserve better USA Network! Give us back Damnation!! Please and thank you!!

And the networks wonder WHY people have stopped watching them and are switching to streaming services, such as Netflix and Hulu. Damnation was one of the overall BEST series on television, PERIOD! From the top notch historical writing, to the incredibly talented actors in EVERY ROLE, which is no small accomplishment, to the musical score, cinematography and directing! Everything was top notch! The problem is that USA clearly doesn’t know how to market their entertainment properly, OR book their talent on the talk show circuit to promote the show. That used to be done all the time but I don’t see too much of it anymore, which is a shame. In a world of OVER-STIMULATION and choices beyond comprehension you MUST go above and beyond to attract the base audience. Once you’ve established them, as long as your product (the show) remains consistently good they will stay with you. But when shows are being cancelled after one season it becomes like a slap in the face to those who DID invest their time into something the network must have believed in at one point. How about, instead of cancelling Damnation you market the hell out of a Season 2 and give it another season to build. Otherwise, I’m going to think twice before ever investing my time on anything network related. Especially when that network is USA.
