Cinemax announced today that Strike Back has been renewed for what will be the show's sixth season on the cable network. The action drama's fifth season - titled "Retribution" - is currently airing, with a finale set for next month on April 6.
The series is a collaboration between HBO/Cinemax and Sky in the UK. Today's renewal is actually for Season 7 overseas, as Cinemax did not begin airing the show until its second season, only to air the original first season years later as Strike Back: Origins.
Originally announced to end in 2015, Strike Back was revived just one year later for a new incarnation featuring an all-new cast. The disbanded Section program was restored to track down a notorious terrorist who escapes from prison.
Season 6 will continue to follow the adventures of the elite, multi-national, covert Section 20 team as it fights a far-reaching web of interconnected criminals and terrorists around the world. Look for a return in 2019.

The show started as a six episode show in the uk. then went to a full series on cinemax , cimemax does have the first season on it on demand. It had Andrew Lincoln of the walking dead in it. It came out the year before that series. The new version is good but I do miss the tow ex-lead actors.

Still a good show but I have to admit it does not feel the same as the original version. But still well worth watching.
