No Season 3 for the workplace comedy.
May 12, 2018
It is being reported that Superior Donuts has been cancelled after two seasons. The sad news comes just days before the comedy's planned sophomore finale, which will now act as its series ender.
The half-hour series premiered early last year as a mid-season entry, performing well enough to earn itself a Season 2 pickup. But after being moved to the network's regular fall schedule, the show couldn't maintain its momentum, especially during the back-half of its run.
Superior Donuts stars Judd Hirsch as an old-school owner of a Chicago donut shop that hasn't changed since it first opened in 1969. And as his shop has stayed frozen in time, the neighborhood around it is changing. But now starting to fall on hard times, he starts to let his enterprising young employee help bring his business into the 21st century.
The series finale of Superior Donuts airs this Monday, May 14.

Awe darn. I can see why it was cancelled, but I did like the show and cast. The writing was rather sophomoric, but some of the lines were really great!

.....overheard during writing of season two.. ."Hey, how come we don't have any representation of Hispanics on this show? You're right. Let's make the white girl jsut vanish into thin air and bring in a Latina. That way we can represent every ethic group.. I mean.. that's what friend 'cliques' are really like right?" This "preachy" show was so out of touch it was amazing. It was like watching someone who traditionally writes children's books attempt a TV show. Did they hire writers from Sesame Street?

Unbelievable... Another, clean, funny sitcom and you cancel it.. No more chances given. It all statistics no matter what the viewer who are watching this think. ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS should all become commercial channels, because there are more idiot commercials then actual show content. I'd rather pay for TV, this is ridiculous.

And it was actually more like Chico and the Man for those of us who were born in the 70s and loved that show that ended too soon due to the suicide of Freddy Prince Sr.

Pretty much done with tv in general after this, its so disheartening to cancel a show as great as this, I've just given up on humanity basically, I'm moving to the woods, ill just buy Law and Order SVU and Blacklist when they come out on DVD at Best Buy, I'm out

Well, this show was basically a retread of "Taxi" -- a whacky ensemble cast built around Judd Hirsch. It had its moments, but the ensemble just never was as good as the original.
