The Navy SEAL drama will not return for Season 3.
June 29, 2018
It is being reported that History has cancelled Six after two seasons. The Navy SEAL drama is currently in the midst of its sophomore run, with four episodes remaining until its now-series finale in early August.
The show premiered early last year and had a solid debut outing, airing eight episodes that delivered strong ratings for the cable network. Season 2, however, has not fared as well. Viewership through its first six episodes if off by nearly half compared to Season 1, making it difficult to warrant a third season pickup.
Inspired by true events, Six takes place in the high stakes world of the elite Navy Special Operations unit known as SEAL Team Six. Its members are tasked with the covert mission of eliminating a Taliban leader in Afghanistan, but the mission goes awry when they discover that a U.S. citizen is working with the terrorists.

watching the last few episodes, I can see why it was cancelled-- episodes too dragged out, this week team spent an hour wandering around Chechnya and just waiting to get shot up. What is realistic is the disgusting assassin who was invited to dinner by the teenager daughter of one of the SEALS. There are such monsters in our midst. The Brave and Taken were much better but were cancelled. Watch the DEEP STATE on Epix channel;, its great.

These "special forces" dramas often do well when they focus on the actual missions, and less so when the dramas focus on the personal lives of the participants. Season 2 of SIX spent a lot more time on the home front and I think lost a lot viewers because of it.

Season 1 was great. Season 2 had too much bad family drama. One of the reasons this could have been cancelled is that for Season 1, the Winestain brothers were involved.
Walter Goggins is the best. Olivia Munn can't act her way out of a paper bag. The Brave was the best pro-military show and it got good ratings. It 'supposedly' got cancelled because
it didn't win its' time slot because of The Good Doctor. Move the show to another nite. But then, again, the libs drive what is put on tv.

Season 1 was fabulous, Season 2 disappointing, hard to follow, too much time in the interrogation room, repetitive, - but the networks keep cancelling patriotic shows like Six and Brave and Taken, and they keep renewing these moronic sit coms, reality shows, talent shows, and other junk. Bring back COMBAT (circa 1964), Twelve O Clock High (circa 1964) and frankly John Wayne in The Green Berets (1968).
in the Green Berets (1968)..

I’m with u L-2 season 1 was great 2 was kinda a let down seal team is ok. The brave was awesome I can’t believe it got dumped but the writing was on the wall for the six and the brave cbs has to much invested in David boreanaz so it’s gone at least get 2seasons more likely 4-5 and then end it

Writing this season and Olivia's acting are horrible. She is totally unbelievable. She couldn't even play the part of girlfriend for a gay AR.
Too much family drama for a military show.
Sad to see it go, but it was going downhill fast anyway.

Can anyone please tell me if S2 ends on a cliffhanger? (Specifically the kind that makes you feel like you wasted your time watching any of the season)

I (for one) enjoyed this series and I'm sorry to see it go; don't know the politics of Goggins leaving, but was fine with Munn coming on-board.
I'll now have to be limited and content with SEAL Team, as my favorite, The Brave, is already gone.
The TV industry is brutal isn't it?
