The upcoming drama will return for Season 2.

More than one month ahead of its premiere, Lifetime has announced that You has been renewed for a second season. The drama, due to premiere on September 9, is the latest scripted original from super producer Greg Berlanti, who will soon have 15 series to his name across broadcast, cable, and streaming TV networks.
Based on the novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes, You stars Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley as Joe, a bookstore manager who becomes infatuated with an aspiring writer after the two cross paths. What starts out as an awkward crush ends up becoming on obsession, with Joe using social media to research intimate of details about the woman of his dreams in order to get close to her. Discretely and strategically, Joe removes every obstacle and person in his path.
Production on Season 2 of You is slated to begin later this year for a likely return in 2019. The second season will once again be based on Kepnes' work, this time taken from her follow-up book 'Hidden Bodies'.
