July 26, 2018
Showtime has announced that after five seasons, The Affair will be coming to an end. The cable network today picked up the acclaimed drama for Season 5, with the news coming in the midst of a fourth-season run that once again has drawn praise from both audiences and critics.
The award-winning series stars Joshua Jackson, Dominic West, Maura Tierney, and Ruth Wilson, and follows the emotional fallout of an extramarital relationship that ripped two marriages apart - and the crime that ends up bringing the involved parties together again.
Look for the fifth and final season of The Affair in 2019. For now, new episodes are currently airing on Sunday nights, with the Season 4 finale slated for August 19.

It looks like everyone has abandoned this show. I'm glad I stayed with it to the end. The series finale was very satisfying and true to the characters and story line. Maura Tierney is a suburb and underrated actress. It's great when a show that you've watched for years leaves you wanting more but glad that it ended well. Cheers to The Affair!

What if the show ends with Allison back with Cole and Noah back with Helen

I agree with Gina. Sorry to see it's ending, but would love for Cole and Alison to get back together by the end of Season 5. I agree that Helen can be incredibly annoying, but not where near as annoying as Cole's current wife (I've have episodes sitting on my DVR waiting for me). She drives me crazy. So freaking needy.

Even having to wait a year and some months for the return of this show was well worth the wait. I hate it’s ending but again I can see why, it is beginning to run its course. Yes, Helen is getting on the last nerve I have, she’s a real itch this season although she’s always been to some degree. I don’t care for the pairing of Noah and Sanna either, she’s just too much also

Agreed--Helen is grating on my nerves, and I want to see more of Cole and Noah. Ultimately, I'd like to see Allison and Cole back together again....

Last season was slow. This season is better since they added Vic and I like that they are showing more "Cole" segments. Helen is wearing on my last nerve with all crap. The story needs to move on a little faster!
