OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that Queen Sugar has been renewed for a fourth season. The good news comes with three episodes remaining in the drama's Season 3 run, which has continued to draw praise from both viewers and critics, along with solid ratings for the cable network.

Co-created and executive produced by Oprah Winfrey, Queen Sugar follows estranged sisters who reunite in Louisiana after inheriting their father's sugarcane farm. For Season 4, writer and co-executive producer Anthony Sparks will be taking over showrunner duties from Kat Candler. The move is part of series creator Ava DuVernay's ongoing efforts to provide new opportunities to those working on the show.

New Season 3 episodes are currently airing on Wednesday nights, with an extended 90-minute season finale planned for August 22. Look for Season 4 to premiere in mid-2019.
