AMC has announced that Preacher will be returning for a fourth season. The good news comes three months after the comic book-adapted drama's third season finale. While its viewership levels aren't what they once were - Season 3 averaged roughly half of what it drew in Season 1 - the show continues to garner praise from critics and its core fan base for its focused storylines and mix of fun and chaotic violence.
Based on DC Comics' Vertigo comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher follows a conflicted, small-town Texas preacher who is accidentally possessed by a supernatural entity that causes him to develop a highly unconventional power allowing him to command others to do as he says. Joined by his ex-girlfriend and an Irish vagabond, he sets out on a journey to literally find God.
Production on Season 4 of Preacher is scheduled to begin in early 2019 in Australia, with a likely return around May or June.

I enjoyed the first season, the second season was so-so, and the third season was my favorite. I hope season 4 can live up to season 3.

I think the show has pretty much run its course. Few of the characters outside the main three are interesting and the stories are repetitive.

I think I may have now officially seen it all on the internet. I know there’s always gonna be new stuff, but I can’t imagine anything more obscure than seeing “Hopefully they will keep Hitler around next season..” ROFL. What makes it so profoundly crazy to me is the fact that I agree with the comment! Hahaha.

I loved season 1. I enjoyed the Hitler / Eugene parts of season 2 - and attributed the rest to the Sophomore season slump. I didn't like last season at all. I hope they go back to it being more like the first season, but I will watch anyway to see where it goes and hopefully how it ends.

This show is great just like the comic book series it came from. Hopefully they will keep Hitler around next season, he can only be up to no good after all. Which means more crazy episodes.
