No Season 4 for the streaming comedy.
March 14, 2019
Sad news today for fans of One Day at a Time, as Netflix has cancelled the comedy after three seasons. Executive producer Mike Royce broke word of the cancellation this morning on Twitter, posting a solemn message to his followers expressing his appreciation of those who worked on and supported the show.
While the streaming giant rarely comments on cancellations, a public statement was issued on its official Twitter account stating, "We've made the very difficult decision not to renew One Day At A Time for a fourth season. The choice did not come easily - we spent several weeks trying to find a way to make another season work but in the end simply not enough people watched to justify another season."
The half-hour sitcom premiered in January 2017 as a remake of the classic Norman Lear series of the same name that aired for nine seasons between 1975 and 1984. Similar to the original, the updated version of One Day at a Time follows a former military veteran and single mom who is doing her best to raise her progressive teenage daughter and socially awkward tween son. The series was positively received by both audiences and critics.

Meant to say: "We should we pay for free show we can get over the air or at the library?" As in we pay for services for the original content. I think Love_Texas is just paying for something they don't want and mad about it.

Hey truth
Pay for free content....what's? R u really old? I don't have free cable tv. I'm modern and I'm a cord cutter. I don't even remember what commercials are its been so long. I have Netflix, Hulu, , and Amazon prime and I pay 30$ a month for everything I want and I don't have to pay for 900 channels that only have dumb, boring, and irrelevant shows and dated movies I'd never waste time on.

When will @Love_texas learn... stop the original content and they will have to RAISE the cost! WE already DON'T pay for NON ORIGINAL content on Hulu! We should we pay for free show we can get over the air or at the library. Companies won't lower the price people already pay. Customers will drop out if they have to pay for content that is not original, and then everyone else will have to pick up the cost.
Out of all the original content on these two giant streaming channels, If you have liked maybe 3 shows... DON'T PAY FOR IT. It is simple economics.

Proof that Thanos never watched the original One Day At A Time, which was about as liberal as a show could get. It was feminist, it dealt with all sorts of social issues, and was frank about sex in a way a lot of shows weren't at the time. People like him would've been offended by it then, too (hell, one of the original cast members was gay, although he didn't come out until he was much older).

So glad that the show got canceled. If there was a Hispanic or black show And it was redone with white people the community would be in an uproar. And especially Everything with gay lesbian trans I don't mind it but don't shove it down my throat and have it on every single TV show. Do you know what the percentages so sick of these Holly weird people

When will Netflix and Hulu learn... stop the original content and drop their cost! I already pay for Hulu, too! Out of all the original content on these two giant streaming channels, I think I have liked maybe 3 shows... one being the reboot of Arrested Development, which is just OK compared to the first 3 seasons. Watching the second part of Season 5 tomorrow on Netflix... just because.

This sucks, loved this show a lot. Elena and Syd were adorkable. And it had some great moments. They should have advertised a bit more.

It was such a great show, I'm so sad they cancelled it, but I'm not surprised. Netflix never promoted the show, something I never understand because the reviews were always amazing.

See......this is what happens when you turn all SJW, and try and cram 152 stupid, woke, LGBTQmnopqrst agendas into an already crappy remake. I don't know when Hollyqueer is going to stop protecting the .03% of the population, and shoving their mental-illness down the rest of America's throats? To be honest, 95% of Netflix shows blow camel piss. If Netflix imploded and went off the air tomorrow, the world would be a better place.
