NBC announced today that Good Girls will be returning for a third season. The early re-up should come as a welcome relief to fans who follow the show's performance, as it had been considered 'on-the-bubble' for getting a Season 3 order.
The hour-long comedic drama premiered in early 2018 as a mid-season entry, airing on Monday nights after The Voice. The show performed reasonably well in its time slot, often besting its 10:00pm competition. For its sophomore run, the network opted to keep the show in the mid-season at 10:00pm, but moved it to Sundays, where it has been following World of Dance. Ratings have been decent, though it can't keep up with Shark Tank, which regularly comes out on top in that hour.
Good Girls follows three suburban mothers who are fed up with barely making ends meet. Wanting to change their fortunes, they rob a local grocery store together. But when they get ID'd and the stolen loot ends up being more than they expected, the three friends soon realize that they are in too deep and their lives may never be the same.
Look for Season 3 of Good Girls in the 2019-2020 season, likely as a mid-season entry once again.
