Hulu announced today that Shrill has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes exactly one month after the comedy's six-episode freshman release, which has been garnering a fair amount of critical praise.

Based on Lindy West's book, Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman, the half-hour series stars Saturday Night Live alum Aidy Bryant, who is also one of its executive producers and writers. Bryant plays Annie, a full-figured woman looking to change things up in her life - just not her body. She's more interested in earning the respect of her perfectionist boss, finding the right boyfriend, and getting along with her judgemental mother and sick father.

The streaming service has ordered an increased episode count of eight for Season 2 of Shrill, which is slated for a 2020 return.
