The comedy will not return for Season 2.

It is being reported that Fox has cancelled Rel after just one season. The sad news comes three months after comedy ended its run, with the now-series finale airing on January 13.
The half-hour series premiered last fall as part of Fox's 2018-2019 lineup, garnering decidedly mixed reviews from critics. After drawing a sizable audience on night one, ratings slipped considerably for the remainder of its 12-episode season.
Co-created by comedian Lil Rel Howery and loosely-based on his own life, Rel follows a loving husband and father who has his world turned upside down when he finds out his wife has been having an affair with his barber. After his kids move to Cleveland with their mother, Rel starts the difficult task of rebuilding his life.

I was hoping this would be funny but 75% of the time the show was hard to watch. Jess please just stick to "Jess with the Mess" on IG.

I really wanted to like this show but it was terrible. The story was all over the place and the "jokes" just not funny. Oh well.

Horrible show. Very little humor, if any and always tried to "educate" the audience as if they were morons. You can't speak down to people and expect a success.

Just to clarify, I AM a racist and I don't need to apologize for it now because the show is off the air. It's just always easier to criticize a show once it's been cancelled because it's less of a threat to me personally. I can't wait for Blue Bloods and Last Man Standing.

It was awful and I watched at least 6 episodes sinbad is hilarious and
Was the only saving grace I really wanted to like it because I try to support black shows but my gosh it was just brutal ... a lot of talent but the material just was NOT good

I saw this coming, I saw a few episodes I gave my opinion on it and was called a racist several times for it, it seems like I wasn’t the only one who saw this trash for what it was.
