Starz announced today that Power will be coming to an end after its sixth season. It has been over a year since the drama was picked up for Season 6, and this news comes as the cable network has set an August 25 premiere date for its now-final run.
The series has been a solid performer for the cable network throughout its time on the air. Along with its share of critical acclaim, Power attracts a consistently-sizeable audience and ranks as Starz's most-watched series.
Set in Manhattan, Power follows a nightclub owner who is also a big player in the city's drug trade. Wanting to leave his criminal past behind him, he realizes that running a legitimate business is not as easy as it sounds.
Season 6 premieres on Sunday, August 25 and will be the show's longest to-date at 15 episodes.
