The veteran drama will conclude in 2020.

NBC announced today that Blindspot will be returning for a fifth and final season. The news should be a bit of a relief to fans who noticed that the network recently pulled the drama from its schedule for May sweeps - a key period of time for viewing data measurement.
The series premiered in 2015 with a strong debut outing that quickly earned it a Season 2 pickup. Its momentum slowed during its sophomore run, however, and while it was renewed, the network moved the show to Friday nights, where it has been airing since.
While longtime fans will no doubt be disappointed that the show is ending, the advanced notice will ensure that creators are given ample opportunity to craft a proper ending to the story.
Created by Martin Gero, Blindspot follows a mysterious woman who is discovered in Times Square, naked and covered in tattoos. Brought to the FBI with no memory of who she is or where she came from, the realization that her tattoos are all linked to crimes to be solved sets in motion an international plot with far-reaching implications.

The show has jumped the shark so it is time to have a fitting ending. Hopefully it will be wrapped up nicely with the writers knowing full well that it is the final season rather than a quick cancellation.

I like this show but not surprised it's going to be its last season. They kind of wrote themselves into a corner. Sad to see it go and I look forward to the final season and seeing how they wrap everything up.

Glad to see it will get a final season. Curious on how the final season will play out. The twist that Jane was playing Kurt the whole time was CRAZY!!! I hope the finale is satisfying

I was completely surprised to see this show eek out yet another new season. Although I continue to watch it because I'm loyal that way, I think it has gotten more and more ridiculous every time I watch it. Jaimie's character has been a clustermuck of inconsistencies despite being brainwashed throughout her life. And Kurt just keeps putting on weight and acting more childish with each passing episode. I will continue to watch but have lost all enthusiasm for the possibility of respectable writing years ago.

This show should have ended 2 seasons ago. "I can't remember anything." "Oh wait...now I remember things but I love all these people and I want to kill the bad guys." No...wait....I remember everything now, AND, I feel bad I killed the bad guys who were the actual good guys that I previously disagreed with, but since having regaining all of my memories and lost my previous good moral compass...I want to now kill my husband who is good, but now bad, and all of his good guy friends." Meh....so dumb.

I love the show. I think this is the right move. One more season to give it a good send-off.
