The comedy finds a new home for Season 4.

One Day at a Time is returning to television. Pop TV announced today that it has picked up a fourth season of the cancelled comedy, much to the delight of its passionate fan base who have been hoping the series might find a new home after being cancelled by Netflix earlier this year.
The series premiered in 2017 and aired three seasons on the streaming service before getting the ax in March. While Netflix rarely comments on cancellations, a public statement was issued on its official Twitter account stating, "We've made the very difficult decision not to renew One Day At A Time for a fourth season. The choice did not come easily - we spent several weeks trying to find a way to make another season work but in the end simply not enough people watched to justify another season."
Today's good news comes after a large outcry over the unexpected cancellation of the fan-favorite comedy. Almost immediately after the decision, the hashtag #SaveODAAT started popping up all over social media, becoming a worldwide trending topic on Twitter. Pop's move to save the show makes One Day at a Time the first series cancelled by Netflix to be revived by another network.
The half-hour sitcom premiered in January 2017 as a remake of the classic Norman Lear series of the same name that aired for nine seasons between 1975 and 1984. Similar to the original, the updated version of One Day at a Time follows a former military veteran and single mom who is doing her best to raise her progressive teenage daughter and socially awkward tween son. The series was positively received by both audiences and critics.
Pop has ordered 13 episodes for Season 4, which is slated to premiere sometime in 2020. It is being reported that the series will also air on CBS later that year.

The Plopster is not a fan of shows that search for stuff that doesn't exist. But if you enjoy it, I am happy you're happy.
