No Season 5 for the cable comedy.

FX has announced that Baskets will be ending after its current fourth season. The news comes with four episodes left in its current run, with the upcoming August 22 airing now acting as its series finale.
Co-created by and starring Zach Galifianakis, Baskets follows a middle-aged man with dreams of becoming a professional clown, though real life has always seemed to get in the way. The show garnered generally favorable reviews in each of its seasons, though recent ratings are not what they were earlier in its run.

I love this show & am really disappointed it is being cancelled.

@Becki They did give it a chance. It was on for 4 seasons.... That's a pretty good chance. I get being upset if a show you like gets cancelled, but don't say it wasn't given a chance after being on for 4 seasons.

Lost all comedy after season 1 and the novelty of Anderson as "ma" wore off.. it hasn't been funny in seasons... in fact.. was he even a clown in season 3???? It's deadpan for sure.. but it's not funny deadpan any more.. hasn't been in years.

Such a unique and funny show. So sad to see it go. It will be missed. Wish you would if given it a chance. Acting was superb.

Too bad. I think Louie Anderson made the show. I agree it was different and sad to see it go. All of my programs are getting the ax! While FX typically doesn't air reality shows, I do agree we have too many stupid ones on tv now. Love Island?--come on!

Come on, be original ffs. Does FX even air reality shows? I am not aware of any. The show ran it's course. How many more years do you need to see Louie Anderson in drag?

Noooo. I love this show. Zach Galifianakis is incredibly talented. Martha Kelly is so funny. Louie Anderson totally made Mrs Baskets a believable character. I guess you have another reality show you need to air???
