No Season 5 for the road trip comedy.
September 4, 2019
It is being reported that TBS has cancelled The Detour after four seasons. The sad news comes two weeks after the comedy's most-recent finale, which now acts as its series ender.
The show had a decent run on the cable network. Its first three seasons drew solid viewership and a favorable critical reception. Viewership did take a noticeable hit in Season 4 compared to its previous levels, however, which likely was a key factor in today's cancellation.
The half-hour series premiered in 2016, following the misadventures that occur during a family's road trip from New York to Florida. Subsequent seasons changed things up, with them settling in New York in Season 2, feeling to Alaska in Season 3, and making international stops in Season 4.

Did you watch seasons 2 on. Nothing in this show matters. What ever they say in the next episode would be rewritten in the episode after that. the overused "You didn't tell me _____" "Yes I did" lines. It was better to put it down now than to keep it going.
They explained the russian girl in the last episodes of the season.
A few good episodes in season 2 and 3 but its mainly been meh. This last season was the worst by far, to political and sjw BS ruined the show.
Cant remeber season 1 being political but these last seasons have shoehorned in so much political nonsence it ruins the few jokes the show is able to deliver. And these only so much ridiculousness the story can take. Every seasons theres some big change in the chracters back stories, it became stale and boring.
Season 1 is definately worth rewatching but the other seasons not so much. Glad show got cancelled as it only seemed to get worse each season.
