The road trip comedy will return in 2019.
May 11, 2018
TBS announced today that The Detour has been picked up for a fourth season. The good news comes a little over a month after the end of Season 3, which in total reached over 25 million viewers across the cable network's various platforms.
The half-hour comedy premiered in 2016, following the misadventures that occur during a family's road trip from New York to Florida. Season 2 saw them settle in New York, while in Season 3 they fled to Alaska.
Look for Season 4 of The Detour in 2019.

Love this show, thought this last season was gonna suck, but after episode 2, it picked up and took off and I was having a great ole' time. Kept a smile on my face and I love the USPISS agent falling in love with the Dad. Keep it coming, everybody on the cast has great chemistry. This film is the true keeper of the torch of National Lampoon's Vacation. GD Right.

Show is great, but most of the time the best jokes take time. From a full episode or several and even a full season worth of build up. Pay of is so worth it though. Objectively though show is a little slow in some places and a little to crazy/weird for mass market.
Still makes me happy to see it get renewed.

Got to admit, I'm surprised. I liked this show at first but this last season was garbage. Nothing funny, just stupid. Hopefully season 4 is better.
