The drama will return for a second season.
October 22, 2019
CBS announced this afternoon that Evil has been picked up for Season 2. The early renewal comes just four episodes into the drama's freshman run, which has so far been garnering critical acclaim despite not being a ratings standout.
From Robert and Michelle King, who created The Good Wife and The Good Fight, Evil stars Mike Colter and Katja Herbers as a priest-in-training and a skeptical clinical psychologist who investigate unexplained phenomena such as demonic possession, miracles, and supernatural occurrences, as they try to determine if there is a scientific explanation behind it.
There will be no back order for Season 1, which will stand at its original 13-episode order that will conclude in January. Look for Season 2 next fall as part of the 2020-2021 season.

Very happy this is already renewed,! The ratings had me worried, I had set the dvr to record all new series that launched and I'm down to just a handful that I haven't cancelled with this being the only must watch one for me.

I'm with Bama. This and Prodigal Son are two of the best new shows of the season. But why of why did CBS give Carol's Second Act a full season. That show is NOT funny.

I enjoyed this show, actually. Was expecting an X-Files knockoff and was pleasantly surprised.

Nothing evil about this show. Just another drama show hiding behind the title. Quite boring. No demons, no devils no nothing.

Fantastic news, great show & cast, I’m surprised since shows like this that’s out of the norm usually gets the axe, I’m glad it didn’t, Evil is our favorite new show this season along with Prodigal Son.
