No Season 2 for the Suits spin-off.
November 1, 2019
It is being reported that Pearson has been cancelled by USA Network after one season. The sad news comes less than two months after the legal drama's run ended, with its Septmber 18 freshman finale now acting as its series ender. While reviews of the show generally leaned towards the positive, it ultimately failed to attract a sizeable audience for the cable network.
A spin-off of Suits, the series stars Gina Torres as powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson, who has recently been disbarred and is learning to adjust to a big change in her life as she moves into the dirty Chicago politics scene. After being named as Mayor Bobby Novak's fixer, Jessica becomes entangled in a dangerous new world where the consequences for every action are very real. As she navigates this new territory, her desire to win conflicts with her nature to do what is right.

I love Gina Torres! She is a wonderful actress who deserves much better than this show, it was beneath her. Loved her in Hannibal!

From the description: “... she moves into the dirty Chicago politics scene.” The show was apparently was about politics. Suits over-dramatized everything. Just as often NOT in a fun way. Pretty hard to over-dramatize Chicago politics.

@Nudnik of time Why do nudniks like you want to make everything politcal? What a JA. How about the show just wasn't good? Everything in life doesn't have to be spun into politics. One of the problems with the show it was bringing that late era Suits vibe. What made Suits originally successful was it was fun and had good dialogue with characters that worked great together like the first Ocean's 11 remake.

I did not watch Suits, and didn't even know that this was a spin - off at first. In the beginning, I was bored, but the episode I decided I was dropping it if things didn't improve, it did. I like Bethany Joy Lenz, so her angle was what reeled me in, but the season finale was a bit like, "huh?" and her angle apparently wrapped, so I guess I'm not sad.

I was a Suits fan but I fell off a few seasons back. I didn't even know this existed. Sounds like I didn't miss much.

I didn't expect to like this series that much because I thought Jessica was going to be an attorney and I had a seen that/done that feeling about her. I was pleasantly surprised to see that she was a fixer in this new endeavor. I thought her character and supporting cast were well written and powerfully acted. I won't necessarily miss the show because I watch a lot of TV but I would have continued watching it for at least another season.

Didn’t give it a chance either even though Gina Torres was good in Suits. Needed something more than that and bad reviews.
