No Season 3 for the cable drama.
December 20, 2019
It is being reported that Starz has cancelled Sweetbitter after two seasons. The sad news comes four months after the book-based drama concluded its sophomore run, with its finale on August 18 now serving as its series ender.
Based on Stephanie Danier's best-selling 2016 novel of the same name, the series follows Tess, a 22-year-old woman who recently moved to New York. When she starts working at one of the city's top restaurants, it's not long before she becomes intoxicated by the establishment's staff, nightlife, and fast-paced lifestyle.

First two seasons were just a fun distraction, but when they finally reveal some upcoming tune-in-next week drama with her telling the manager to fire her "friend", that's when they fail to renew the series? Thanks...the manager was my favorite character and he alone deserved another season...

Too bad. I liked this show, and the direction, in which the characters were going. Sandra Bernhardt as owner, Tess taking a crash course in cut throat ambition. Seasons One and Two showed Tess' naivete. Season Three was promising a major arc in all the character's lives. Again, too bad.

Figured this was the case when she joined that Showtime show Yellowjackets.

I actually liked this show. It was a little quirky, but better than some shows on Starz.

And.. "best selling" means NOTHING in the book world. There's no criteria, no number to hit.. nothing to prevent ANY author or publisher from saying "best-selling" about a book. So using THAT as a basis for a show was fool-hearty.
