The veteran cop drama to end after 10 years on the air.
February 28, 2020
CBS announced today, somewhat surprisingly, that after 10 seasons Hawaii Five-0 is coming to an end. The sad news arrives with just a handful of episodes remaining in the rebooted drama's now-final season.
Ranking as the network's current fourth-longest-running drama, the cop series has been a fairly reliable Friday night staple, where it has been airing for the past six years. A re-imagining of the classic police procedural that aired from 1968 to 1980, Hawaii Five-0 follows Officer Steve McGarrett, who has returned to Hawaii to join up with Danny Williams as part of an elite branch of the Hawaii Police Force.
With such short notice, it is not clear if the series will end with a proper finale. The network has slated Friday, April 3 for the final episodes to air as part of a 2-hour closer. The 10-season run for this reboot of Hawaii Five-0 was impressive, but it ultimately failed to outlast the original, which ran for 12 seasons.

Mike Dobey.......Grace Park landed on ABC’s “A Million Little Things” as a series regular. So she’s worked plenty since she left.
Gene.......CBS isn’t killing off anything. Show had been on 10 seasons. About 98% of TV shows don’t last this long.

Aethn, park andkim were not fired, they quit.Over salary issues, since neither has worked much since then, that may have been a bad idea, much any supporting actor in a sucessful show should ride it out to the end , as work can be fleating in acting for supporting actors. I did read that alex l has back issues,, be may have pulled the plug, just lime the arrows lead actor did or supernaturals lead actors did. The networks reluctantly ended those shows, and no alex no 5-0. Rip h 5_0

I'm fine with the new cast. The others chose to leave. It did seem they were saving money by writing contracts with a limit to the number of episodes instead of increasing overall salary. It was a little jarring to have characters missing .
I hope they honor this show by giving the writers a chance to go out on their terms and close out any open storylines. As others have said, a show like this serves that much. I'll be watching Magnum...

Sorry to see this go; but if Alex O'Loughlan is in pain, what can he do. Just sad to see this good show. go.

Enjoyed this show so much, casting was well done - never missed the cast members who left because replacements were excellent! Will miss this show!

So sorry to read this. It is one of the few shows that I really enjoy. I just hope that they don't end it on a cliffhanger.

Even though through the seasons there were times that the show was a bit dull it always delivered in the end and got us excited for what was to come. I am so sad to see it go!
Could it be picked up from some other network?
How could they wrap up the show on such short notice?

I was reading an article about this, and the show could have gone on longer with the great ratings. The reason given for cancelling was Alex O'Loughlin (Steve) wanting to leave because of suffering many years with a bad back. I think he got stem cell transplant a couple of years ago to keep him going, but I guess all the action was too much of a strain on his back. I watch every week, sad to see it go!

I knew something was up when there were VERY FEW times when the cast was together at the same time. Danny would be missing for episodes on end, where Steve would get a phone call. Steve would be investigating one thing, and two others would investigate something else and the show never had them meet — all the while other cast members weren’t even there! The writing was on the wall. I watched it regularly, but yeah, it has run its course...
