No Season 2 for the streaming thriller.

Word is out that Netflix has cancelled Messiah after its first season. Actor Wil Traval, who plays Will on the show, took to his social media accounts to break the news to his followers.
The thriller premiered on New Years Day with a 10-episode run that ultimately drew little buzz and garnered a mixed reception. With so many originals in its slate, Netflix seems to have a higher performance bar these days that shows must hit in order to secure a renewal.
Messiah follows CIA officer Eva Geller, who begins investigating a charismatic man who is attracting international attention due to his followers believing that he can perform miracles. As she is drawn into the mystery surrounding this newly-emerged figure, it takes her on a global mission to uncover whether he is truly a divine entity or merely a deceptive con artist.

To answer everyone’s questions, it was revealed through social media that al-masih is actually the anti-Christ. And that at the end when all the flowers died, that one of those guys was one of the four horseman, pestilence. And that Jibril was actually Chris returned. The show was basically going to go through revelations. Personally, I was bummed this was cancelled because I’m tired of the same old shows of law, medical, fire, police, crime, etc.

Wow. I loved this show! However, I will admit I became very anxious to know whether he was the Messiah or was he a con-man? It was suspenseful. But, it was never addressed, but I would have welcomed a 2nd season just to answer that question. I am surprised by all of the negative comments. I loved this show.

Glad they cancelled this nonsense. Total waste of bandwidth. Just making people cling to ridiculous Dogma and giving them false hope that super friends exist in the clouds, lol.

Jeff, I don’t know if I’d say it was a cliffhanger, more like an unanswered question. The whole premise of the series was flip flopping between believing he was the messiah and thinking he was a con artist. The question of is he/isn’t he was never fully answered, but it was still worth my time.

I hate investing time in a show that I actually like, just to see it canceled with no closure!

Julie did this show conclude or is their a cliffhanger? It’s in my list and I don’t wanna watch it if there’s a cliffhanger. Thx

That's because it was a snooze fest.

So Netflix renews three "reality" shows and cancels one scripted. They are basically following the trend.

I’m actually glad it was cancelled. Season 1 was great, but this was one of those shows where extra seasons would have absolutely ruined it as a whole, much like the Kevin Bacon series The Following.
