Fox announced today that 9-1-1 has been picked up for a fourth season. The good news comes with five episodes left in Season 3 of the hit drama, which continues to perform well for the network. Spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star was also picked up today for a second season.
The hour-long drama premiered in 2018 as a mid-season entry with a lot of buzz thanks in-part to its high-profile co-creator, Ryan Murphy, and its big-name cast that features the likes of Angela Bassett and Peter Krause. It has since found a regular spot in Fox's fall lineup, where it remains one of its top-rated scripted original series.
9-1-1 follows the people who put their lives on the line to save and protect others: police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and even 911 operators. Its storylines are based on the high-pressure experiences of real-life first responders, resulting in a variety of situations that range from intense to unpredictable to uplifting.
Look for Season 4 of 9-1-1 later this year or in early 2021.
