The Edie Falco cop drama will not return for Season 2.
May 6, 2020
Some sad news is out for Tommy this morning. CBS announced their schedule for the 2020-2021 season and the freshman drama was absent from the lineup. The cancellation comes the day before the show's now-series finale. The move is not a complete surprise, though, as it was plagued by low ratings for the entirety of its time on the air.
Tommy stars Edie Falco as Abigail "Tommy" Thomas, a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female chief of police for the city of Los Angeles. A New Yorker through and through, Tommy uses her brutal honesty and hardball methods to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland.

I think that Edie Falco is great in everything. The show did have some problems. They squished too many characters and came after them all at once. I kind of found that last episode a little confusing...she just gets onto the scent of some corruption, and then in the next episode it's all solved. Really looked so fake when two actors were shot, one actually fell to the floor and then gently rested his head down and croaked haha. Edie you deserved better!

they continue to cancel good shows and leave crap on TV. TOMMY AND DEPUTY both just canceled. Maybe a new network will pick one of them up. That has happened with a few shows over the past couple years so maybe it can happen with some of the new shows recently canceled

I love this show. Is there any way to convince CBS to change its mind???

I'm disappointed the show was cancelled, but I understand why. It's not just "The Dinosaur" execs, it's all across all levels of programming stations. The problem is that EVERY SINGLE SHOW has, at least one homosexual couple and insists on displaying intimate moments. When a couple of years ago, the majority of the people didn't approve of same sex marriage and SCOTUS overturned the people's votes and states laws...in trots every show slamming it down our throats FORCING us to accept/approve.
Viewers, much like the adage "lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink," either fast forward or turn the channel and stop recording. If you notice, the shows that have the token same-sex couple in the background, fair better than the ones where they're up front main characters. Personally, it's disrespectful to the entire homosexual community by forced into every script and forcing writers to figure out how to make them naturally relevant and not some token cheap ploy.
Hollywood can DEMAND the people fall in lock-step with their views and accept/agree unconditionally will only serve to lose viewership and cancel good shows like Tommy. When their disrespectful arrogance AGAINST their viewers settles down a tad/a lot, we will see less good to great shows like Tommy, Deputy, and Broke get cancelled. Good luck to us all.

Another good show form CBS going down in flames. Not sure why? I would have given this a chance one more season to see if the ratings could climb.

So sad!!! My boyfriend and I love this show! Very good storylines. That’s why I don’t like investing my life into new shows. Now it’s cancelled and we’ll never know how it was suppose to play out.
