The sci-fi comedy will return for Season 2.
May 8, 2020
Amazon announced today that Upload has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes a week after the sci-fi comedy released its freshman run, which has been positively received by both viewers and critics.
Set in 2033, the series follows Los Angeles coder Nathan Brown, who was involved in a terrible car accident at the wheel of his self-driving car. After his crash, Nathan's girlfriend uploads him to a virtual reality world created by a customer service rep named Nora, who works for an elite digital afterlife company. Nathan now must navigate his new and surreal surroundings with the help of Nora.
Look for Season 2 of Upload in 2021.

Love this show! Original, GREAT plot and writing, draws you into the story line. This show, plus "The Expanse" alone are worth the cost of Amazon Prime.
Looking forward to Season 2

I just watched all ten episodes in one sitting. I came here to see the status, and am overjoyed that it was renewed.

This is a good, fresh, well-written show, Andy Allo is my new celebrity crush.

Didn’t think of the good place even once.
I usually don’t like comedy unless it’s dark.
This is just dark enough.

In spite of the predictable comparisons with "The Good Place", the writing on "Upload" is FAR superior to that of "The Good Place". The writing staff of "Upload" are wittier, more imaginative, more risque...etc. I stopped watching "Good Place" after the first season, because the writing took a ridiculous turn for the worse. It was clear that they were running low on 'ideas' and 'direction'. "Upload" pulls you in and keeps you laughing episode after episode, often at these tiny side-bits of humor that pepper each episode, often flying by just under the radar, in a way that you could miss them if you aren't paying CLOSE attention to every line. This is my favorite show on television, currently, and my only disappointment was that there weren't MORE episodes in Season One.

Fantastic. I really liked the the first season. While there are some similarities with The Good Place, it is unique enough I wouldn't call it a rip off. It also shares some elements as others have said with Ready Player One, The Matrix and I think even Downsizing.

Good show. Has absolutely nothing in common with The Good Place which deals with an actual supernatural afterlife and cosmic beings as its central conceit. This show instead has more in common with The Matrix or Player One than it does with The Good Place. I don't think anyone who actually watched Upload would find the two similar. In Upload, real life and still living people intentionally interact via an avatar in a digital landscape with their deceased loved ones, who have had their own consciousness digitized right before they died. <spoiler alert...stop reading> The central conceit is instead a love triangle between two living people and a dead scan of a guy...surrounding an unfolding mystery of his murder related to technological espionage. NOT at all a "The Good Place knockoff."

Looks like a good place rip off...but I’m not mad! I really wanna watch this, glad it’ll have multiple seasons for me to binge
