The sci-fi comedy is coming to an end.

Amazon announced today that Upload has been picked up for a fourth and final season. The news comes four months after the sci-fi comedy wrapped its Season 3 run, which again garnered a positive reception from both viewers and critics.
"I'm thrilled to share that Upload will return to Prime Video for a fourth and final installment," said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. "We are grateful to Greg and the fantastic team behind the series and while goodbyes are bittersweet, we know that the series will be uploaded to its well-deserved idealistic after-life."
"When I conceived Upload many years ago, I had the story arced out over four seasons, so I am thrilled to make the ending the fans deserve and the characters and creative team have been working towards," said Greg Daniels, series creator, writer and executive producer. "Jen Salke and Vernon Sanders have been our Angels and they deserve 5 stars."
Set in 2033, the series follows Los Angeles coder Nathan Brown, who was involved in a terrible car accident at the wheel of his self-driving car. After his crash, Nathan's girlfriend uploads him to a virtual reality world created by a customer service rep named Nora, who works for an elite digital afterlife company. Nathan now must navigate his new and surreal surroundings with the help of Nora.

That sounds about right. Season 1 was absolutely brilliant and inventive, but with each season the writers are clearly running out of ideas. Still, it is one of the best comedies around.

Happy it's coming to a proper end. S3 was boring and we struggled to watch it. Hoping for a strong finale.

Good plan season 3 was a boring lackluster experience. I imagine season 4 will be more ch the same.

Good call on both the renewal and calling it after four seasons. There's really not much further they could take the story. But this is actually one of the best shows out there right now. Can't wait to see how it ends.

Happy to hear this. They took an interesting concept and have done very well with it. It's good that it gets a honest chance to wrap up the story.
