CBS announced today that The Good Fight has been picked up for a fifth season on its 'All Access' streaming service. The Good Wife spin-off returned for its fourth season in April, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic will have its run shortened to just seven episodes, concluding on May 28.
The legal drama made its mark in 2017 as the first original series on CBS' subscription video-on-demand service. And while the network does not divulge the show's performance data, it does refer to it as one of its most-beloved and acclaimed series.
Created by The Good Wife's Robert and Michelle King, The Good Fight takes place following the events of the original series. While most main characters were not carried over, the story continues to follow Diane Lockhart, who has come out of retirement to join a preeminent Chicago law firm along with Lucca Quinn. Other supporting characters from The Good Wife also make occasional appearances.
Look for Season 5 of The Good Fight in 2021.
