No Season 2 for the midseason comedy.

Reports are out that Outmatched has been cancelled by Fox after one season. The sad news arrives just under two months after the comedy wrapped its freshman run, which failed to make much of an impact in the ratings and ended up drawing lackluster reviews.
The series stars Maggie Lawson and Jason Biggs as blue-collar workers Cay and Mike who are raising four kids. But the couple have their hands especially full with the demands of three of them who happen to have a very high IQ. Though it may be overwhelming at times, the couple are committed to bringing a sense of normalcy to their kids' unconventional childhoods, even if they can't always related to their little geniuses.

I love Jason Biggs and like Maggie Lawson so I had great hopes for Outmatched. There is certainly enough room for a 2nd comedy with genius kids, but this one just fell flat. Such a disappointment.
Everyone seems to be comparing this to Young Sheldon which I personally think is one of the top 3 comedies currently airing. Outmatched didn't have to be that good for me to enjoy it. It just needed to be funny. It wasn't.
I'll be watching for Jason Biggs next project...

You have to wonder how actors feel when they realize soon on that they are in a big turkey. They still have to hit their marks and somehow carry on, but they go to work each day knowing it will be a forgettable waste of time.
The sad thing is that it's still a paycheck, which is better than 90% of actors have it.

@Just Keith You're a better persona than I am because I watched the first few minutes and new this wasn't going to make it. And you're right it was a horrible premise and the dialogue were horrible. What really sucks is I've liked Maggie since Psyched and Jason Biggs really hasn't found his stride after American Pie.

You'd think with 3 "genius" kids one of them would have realized this was awful. You can create a problem but if you already have a solution (the kid's smarts) all your doing is forcing ways around it. In the end it tiring trying to watch them force in conflict. If the kids were smart then they knew what not to do. This was obviously going to fail.

Aww, canceled??? I though I saw something about it getting renewed. My hubby, Mom and I loved this show! Another good comedy canceled!! First, Man With a Plan, now Outmatched--what a shame. Hoping another network will pick up these shows. Why is it good TV get canceled yet crap like Survivor keeps getting renewed?
