No Season 2 for the mid-season dramedy.

Word is out that ABC has cancelled The Baker and the Beauty after just one season. The sad news comes two weeks following the dramedy's freshman finale, which will now serve as its series-ender. The show was one of two shows left on the bubble by the network. The other, For Life, was given a second season order.
Billed as a modern-day fairy tale, The Baker and the Beauty follows blue-collar baker Daniel Garcia, who works in his Cuban parents' family bakery. After he meets a well-known celebrity during a crazy night out in Miami, his life is thrust into the spotlight. Now this unlikely couple must decide whether to upend their lives in order to be together.

I am late on this , but after the 4th show I saw this end coming. First three shows I found geared towards a more traditional viewer, but the show took a hard left, out of the blue turn on them, and they turned the show off. This reminded me in a small way of the show Killing from a few years back. Killing kept their viewers waiting until the last show of the first season to discover the murderer and then pulled the rug out from their loyal viewers by not revealing the killer. The show did not recover from this and found itself canceled in the second season due to massive loss of viewers.

Yeah they cancelled Freinds before people had a chance to find it too. I mean I found this after the tons of advertising time and money they spent and the 9 weeks they aired it, but how Is anybody else supposed to find it in under 25 years. I'm also mad that ABC canned The Middle and Modern Family too early for me to find. #ItsallaboutME

Why ABC? Just because it had no viewers, was not going to get viewers, critics were indifferent to it, it had no social media buzz, all of which caused it to lose advertisers, which caused it to lose profit, all while costing money to make and taking up time that could be used for profitable shows which would attract an audience. That's no reason to cancel it. I liked it and I am all that matters.

I should have known better than to get attached to an ABC show. I really looked forward to this one every week. I truly hope another network will save it.
