No Season 2 for the mid-season dramedy.

Word is out that ABC has cancelled The Baker and the Beauty after just one season. The sad news comes two weeks following the dramedy's freshman finale, which will now serve as its series-ender. The show was one of two shows left on the bubble by the network. The other, For Life, was given a second season order.
Billed as a modern-day fairy tale, The Baker and the Beauty follows blue-collar baker Daniel Garcia, who works in his Cuban parents' family bakery. After he meets a well-known celebrity during a crazy night out in Miami, his life is thrust into the spotlight. Now this unlikely couple must decide whether to upend their lives in order to be together.

Just from the commercials any reasonable viewer could tell this was garbage. The premise might have worked but it was poorly executed. Thank you ABC for caring for the viewer.

This was one of the few shows in which I could say I liked every character. It deserves to be picked up by another network. ABC dropped the ball on this one.

if you know anything about tv shows. you should know that anything with Latinos, indians or Kyle Bornheimer is bound to be cancelled from the get go. just don't stick to it or keep your hopes low.

I really adored the show! ABC never gets it right. They cancel everything I love and keep the worst crap. I truly thought this one was special. And I'll never get over Deception. That was wonderful!

Great show with a great cast representing latino culture. I hope it gets picked up for a second season by a streaming service or another network.

No!!!! This can't be. The Baker and The Beauty was an absolutely great show. It was one of the few shows that had tasteful romance, drama, and comedy. I am completely devastated.
